We've had a summer break and now it's time to crank up those brains, warm up the fingers and start blogging again for the new season.
For the next Cardiff Bloggers Meet-up we're looking at niche blogging and blogging about a particular topic of interest. Blogging for a niche group can throw up all sorts of different obstacles and unforseen delights into the mix, so we've enlisted some of Cardiff's top niche bloggers to tell us a bit more about their experiences of blogging on a specific topic.
We've got Gwyenth Moore, who earlier this year set up Cardiff Fashion to tell us about how she found a niche market gap in Cardiff and made a name for the blog on a bigger scale. See our previous post about Gwyneth here.
Nicola Tudor from Cardiff Bites will tell us a bit about running her successful foodie blog - which different types of posts have worked and not worked and where she plans to take the blog in the future. See Nicki's food review guest post here.
Last but definitely not least, Phil Jones from Pint of 45 will talk about fitting into a niche topic which is already broadly covered in the blogosphere and how he runs the blog with Oliver Hurley. See their previous guest post here.
As always there will be time for questions, networking and chit-chatting about all things social and bloggery in Cardiff.
The event will be at 7pm on Wednesday 8 September at Pica Pica, which is on Westgate Street in the city centre. If you'd like you're first drink free - you'll need to pre-register for the event here.
Free wi-fi will be provided if people want to bring laptops/mobiles and tweeting is encouraged - use the hashtag #cdfblogs.
Thanks to WEPR, Pica Pica and Musicbox studios for helping to make this happen.
The event is hosted by Guardian Local and Media Wales. Find out more about the bloggers meet-ups here.
Next Cardiff Social Media Surgery
We will be holding the second Cardiff Social Media Surgery on Tuesday 28 September from 5-7pm at The Plan in Morgan's Arcade. We'll need more surgeons to help this time so pease do sign-up here to let us know if you can help. If you're not sure what the Cardiff Social Media Surgery is go here.
