Cardi B wears 'oyster' dress to Grammys 2019 and fans don't really know what to think about it

Cardi B left everyone shell-shocked when she turned up to this year’s Grammy Awards in an “oyster” dress.

The rapper, who made history by becoming the first female to win the Best Rap Album gong, made sure all eyes were on her as she showed up to the glitzy award show in a vintage Thierry Mugler couture dress from 1995.

The bold look consisted of a baby pink “clam shell” with the rapper inside a scaled gold bodice, with both her neck and hat covered in pearls.

Fans of the I Like it hit maker, real name Belcalis Almánzar, were left divided on social media over the gown.

One user wrote: “Cardi B is gonna stand during the whole show with that shell kinda dress. I’m sorry.” [sic]

Another commented: “Am I the only one who didn't like Cardi B's dress?! No disrespect to Cardi, but that was just ridiculous. I mean, how do you even pee in that thing!?!”

A third added: “I feel bad for the people who got seated behind Cardi B in that dress.”

Meanwhile, other users hailed the look as “genius.”

Another shared: “Cardi B dressed like an oyster. I actually thought it was genius.”

Whilst some users were concerned the star would not be able to sit in the dress, the star did change into a less extravagant white evening gown for the ceremony.

Cardi B made history at this year’s Grammys when she became the first woman to win the Best Rap Album award, taking home the prize for debut album Invasion of Privacy.
