Cardi B turns herself over to NYPD for investigation of strip-club dispute

Hip-hop star Cardi B, who was wanted following a dispute she was involved in at a Queens strip club in August, has turned herself in and is cooperating with authorities.

The "I Like It" rapper, real name Belcalis Almanzar, and nine other suspects turned themselves over to authorities at New York Police Department's 109th Precinct at 10 a.m. EDT, according to Cadet Edward Serrata, a spokesman for the NYPD.

"She walked into the 109 precinct with her attorney present, so she is cooperating with authorities," Serrata said.

The district attorney was expected to file charges sometime Monday.

Police officials were called to Angels Gentlemen's Club in Queens at about 3 a.m. on Aug. 29 after the rapper and nine others were suspected of "a reckless endangerment act" that involved throwing bottles, the NYPD said. Two female bartenders were injured.

TMZ reported that the 25-year-old was at the club because Migos, her husband Offset's rap trio, was performing. There, she came face to face with the bartenders, one of whom she believed slept with Offset, and allegedly told members of her posse to attack them with bottles, chairs and hookah paraphernalia.

But, Serrata said, since no one was seriously injured, the alleged incident could be classified as a misdemeanor. No warrant for the former reality star's arrest had been issued, but Cardi B was wanted for the incident. She will likely receive a summons to appear in court on the charges.

A spokesperson for Cardi B did not immediately respond to The Times' request for comment on Monday.
