Met Gala looks 2019: Cardi B's massive dress needed its own entourage

Cardi B caught everyone's attention when she hit the Met Gala red carpet on Monday night.

The 26-year-old wore what was indisputably the biggest gown of the evening as she made a grand entrance in a deep red anatomical down-filled dress by Thom Browne and jewelled headgear by milliner, Stephen Jones.

The opulent gown was covered in feather details and embellishment, and took 35 people more than 2,000 hours to create.

But most people were looking at the rapper's dramatic three metre-long train, which had a silhouette reminiscent of Rihanna's canary yellow Guo Pei gown, which caught worldwide attention at the Gala in 2015.

Although prior to her arrival Katy Perry had made it up the Met steps dressed as a chandelier, Cardi B's heavy train took no less than seven people to navigate the star into the building.

But with the 2019 Met Gala theme being Camp: Notes on Fashion, her dramatic entrance could not have been more fitting.
