Cardi B just added a brand new chapter to her life and she kept the whole thing surprisingly quiet. The 33-year-old rapper welcomed her first child with her boyfriend Stefon Diggs last week, according to TMZ, and the NFL star was right there with her. She’s now a mom of four and says she’s stepping into this next era more grounded than ever.
She shared the news in her own way on Instagram, posting a long message about how this moment fits into the different seasons of her life. “My life has always been a combination of different chapters and different seasons. My last chapter was the beginning of a new season. Starting over is never easy but it’s been so worth it! I brought new music and a new album to the world! A new baby into my world, and one more reason to be the best version of me, one more reason to love me more than anything else or anyone else so I can continue giving my babies the love and life they deserve.”
She didn’t stop there, either. “This next chapter is Me vs. Me! It’s me against all odds me against everything meant to get in my way. I’ve started prepping for tour getting my body right getting my mind right. There’s nothing thats gonna stop me from giving you guys the performance of a life time! I’ve learned i’ve healed, and im loving the woman i’ve become! Thats what this next era means to me and i’m stepping into it better than ever.”
Stefon Diggs had already spilled one detail a little early during a PEOPLE red carpet chat earlier this month when he said, “It’s a boy. That’s enough for me. I can’t wait to make him do push-ups and sit-ups and run around.”
This newest baby joins Cardi’s three other children — Kulture, Blossom and Wave — who she shares with her estranged husband Offset. They’re still locked in a messy divorce that has played out online and even in their music. Offset took what sounded like a direct shot at her on his track “No Sweat,” rapping, “How the fuck you leave Jordan for Rodman? / You a fool if you think that I’m hurt / You ain’t happy, I know how it work / How you married and still givin’ birth? / Get some help, bitch, you goin’ berserk.”
Cardi and Diggs started dating in early 2025, and fans noticed right away that they seemed locked in with each other. Diggs has two kids from previous relationships, and the pair announced the pregnancy together in September during an interview with CBS Mornings. Cardi told Gayle King she felt strong balancing work and pregnancy while rolling out her album Am I the Drama? She said, “I’m excited, I’m happy! I feel like I’m in a good space. I feel very strong, very powerful that I’m doing all this work while I’m creating a baby.”
She also talked about how well she and Diggs click. “Me and my man, we’re very supportive of each other. We’re in, like, the same space in our careers. I feel like we’re really great and one of the best at what we do, and me and him think the same way.”
Cardi didn’t announce the birth with a photoshoot or a livestream or some dramatic rollout. She just let people know when she was ready, and fans seem to love seeing her in this steadier, more grounded moment of her life.
