During laser hair removal sessions, a laser emits a light that is absorbed by the pigment in the hair.

The light energy is converted to heat, which damages the hair follicles which inhibits or delays future hair growth.

It comes after Cardi pulled out of Parklife festival in June with just days to go so she could recover from breast enlargement surgery and liposuction.

The US rapper was one of six headliners at the two-day festival and had been due to close the main stage on Saturday June 8, but organisers confirmed she has cancelled her performance, reported Manchester Evening News .

The star previously postponed a string of US shows to let her body heal from plastic surgery, including a breast enlargement and liposuction - although she managed to perform at a festival in New Jersey on Sunday.

Parklife organisers apologised to festival-goers for the late notice of her cancellation.

The Bronx-born star found fame on Instagram while working as a stripper in New York, gaining a viral following that led to her being cast in VH1 reality show Love and Hip Hop: New York.

Her first major label single Bodak Yellow hit number one in the US in 2017, making her the first female solo rapper to top the charts with a debut since Lauryn Hill in 1998, and her debut album Invasion of Privacy followed suit last year, breaking several streaming records in the process.
