Tickets for this year's Wireless Festival have sold out in record time.
More than 135,000 tickets were snapped up in within hours of the line-up being released yesterday, January 28. Cardi B, A$AP Rocky and Travis Scott will top the bill in July.
It comes after the festival survived complaints from residents and a licence review to return to Finsbury Park.
Organiser Live Nation faced a review of its licence following criticism last year about noise levels, drug taking and anti-social behaviour. But the festival was allowed to remain after Haringey council added a series of conditions to the licence. These include that performers avoid “vulgar, obscene or banned songs”, “indecent acts” and “vulgar gestures, actions or remarks”. It also says that performers must “not offend the general public” such as with exposing clothing.
Cardi B will headline the opening night on Friday, July 5, followed by Travis Scott on Saturday and A$AP Rocky on Sunday, when the festival will close at the earlier time of 9.30pm after protests about noise.
Other acts announced today include Future, Tory Lanez, Ella Mai, Stefflon Don, Rae Sremmurd and Lil Baby.
Stricter noise levels were also introduced but Live Nation appealed, saying the restrictions meant the event would no longer be commercially viable. The council compromised with noise levels being “measured in a different way”.
