Caravan drivers ordered to leave Strathclyde Country Park after breaching lockdown rules

A number of caravan drivers were ordered by Police to leave Strathclyde Country Park yesterday after they breached the ongoing lockdown restrictions in place.

Police have confirmed that they received a number of calls from concerned locals regarding vehicles and caravans entering the park yesterday afternoon and evening.

With local councillor Meghan Gallagher saying that the owners of the vehicles and caravans had gained access after boulders were removed blocking access to the park at the Motherwell entrance.

Officers attended the scene and gave advice to the occupants, who were soon moved on following the police intervention.

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: "Between 5.40pm and 7pm on 17, May, 2020 police received a number of calls regarding vehicles and caravans entering Strathclyde Park.

"Officers attended and advice was given, and the vehicles and occupants were moved on."
