Caravan Club full list of campsites opening on July 4 in England

The Caravan and Motorhome Club has released a list of its campsites that will be reopening on July 4.

The organisation, which has around 700,000 members, has been busy preparing its sites for when the Government gives the green light to reopen.

The club is planning a phased reopening starting with campsites in England and Scotland to ensure they are adapted to the new social distancing and safety requirements set out by the UK government.

They have also introduced strict new measures aimed at preventing the spread of coronavirus and all campsites will be operating to COVID Secure guidelines.

A total of 113 sites in England will open on July 4 but 12 will remain closed for the remainder of this year (Caravan and Motorhome Club)

These include increasing the rigour of cleaning, sanitising and disinfecting common areas and making sure the centre of pitches are at least 6 metres apart.

Sites will also provide contactless arrival and departure process wherever possible and ensure social distancing in common areas which could include toilet blocks, laundry, information rooms, water and waste points.

The club says: "Whilst the majority of our campsites will reopen, there are a small number that will remain closed. There are several reasons for this.

"Sadly, because we were required to close our sites in March we have not been able to carry out our usual induction and training programme for new assistant site managers at the start of the season; we also have some staff who are clinically vulnerable and it is not deemed safe for them or volunteer staff to work at this time; and some sites on racecourse and other facilities cannot be opened because the landlords’ or owners’ facilities and accesses are closed.

"We have therefore allocated our teams to the sites with most occupancy taking the above into account."

A message on the Caravan and Motorhome Club's website said: "We’re excited to welcome back our members to our campsites across England and Scotland.

"We’ve been busy making sure we will be ready to receive our guests from July in England and Scotland, and later in Wales and Northern Ireland.

"In line with the latest UK Government guidance, we are very pleased to share with you our plan to open the majority of our campsites from 4 July in England and 15 July in Scotland.

"At the moment this applies to our sites in England and Scotland only.

"The timescales for reopening our Club sites in Wales and Northern Ireland will be published once we have guidance from their administrations.

"At this moment we are not able to open all of our Club sites, however, we will constantly review whether we are able to open any more campsites in the future.

"Our priority is first and foremost the health and safety of our staff, our members, our guests and the local communities."
