Caravan and shed destroyed in Co Down fire

A caravan and shed have been destroyed in a weekend fire in Co Down.

The incident happened on the afternoon of Sunday, 7 November on the Donaghadee Road at Groomsport.

The Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) said two appliances attended the incident after receiving a call at 1.53pm.

A crew equipped with breathing apparatus was able to extinguish the flames just before 3pm that afternoon.

A Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Firefighters attended the scene of a caravan and a shed on fire on Sunday 7 November.

"Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus, extinguished the fire using one hose reel jet.

"The incident was dealt with by 2.47pm."

The cause of the fire is being treated as accidental.
