Carabao Cup second round draw date confirmed as Crystal Palace, Fulham and West Ham enter

The Premier League may have started this weekend, but attention turns to the Carabao Cup in midweek for clubs in the English Football League.

Most EFL clubs are in action in the first round of the competition this week, with Salford City taking on Leeds United in the televised fixture tomorrow night (Tuesday).

And it has been confirmed that t he second round draw for the Carabao Cup will take place at Salford City’s Peninsula Stadium after the game, with Laura Woods hosting the draw following the conclusion of the round one clash, which is being shown live on Sky Sports.

The winning teams from the first round will be joined in the hat for the second round by the 13 Premier League sides not involved in European competitions, alongside Championship duo Cardiff City and Fulham.

That includes Crystal Palace and West Ham among the 13 teams from the Premier League, along with the likes of Leicester City, Aston Villa and Newcastle United.

The seven remaining top-flight clubs beginning their involvement from the third round are Manchester City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham, Arsenal, Manchester United and Wolves.

The second round draw will be regionalised into north and south sections, with fixtures scheduled to take place on the week commencing August 26th.
