Carabao Cup final 2020 - Man City vs Aston Villa kick off time, TV channel, team news, betting odds

Manchester City travel to Wembley this Sunday in a bid to retain their Carabao Cup crown.

Their opponents Aston Villa have overcome the odds to reach the final - and while City will go in as clear favourites, Pep Guardiola will be aware of football's unpredictable nature and will be keen to guard his players against any potential complacency.

This week's victory over Real Madrid has put City firmly in the driving seat in their Champions League knock-out clash. While this year's Premier League title may be out of reach, there are still three pieces of silverware up for grabs.

The Carabao Cup - and all of it's various incarnations - has been a competition that's been good to City in recent years having won four of the last six finals.

It's a spell of domination dating back to the 3-1 comeback victory over Sunderland when Yaya Toure, Samir Nasri and Jesus Navas were on the scoresheet.

No side since Liverpool in the early 1980s has won the competition three times in a row. A win on Sunday will also bring City within one of the Merseysiders total of eight - the most any side has to their name.

Villa themselves have a rich history in the competition. They won the very first League Cup competition in 1961. They beat Rotherham in a two-legged tie 3-2 having originally been down 2-0 from the first leg.

City will also be encouraged by the result and performance during the last encounter between the two sides. City left Villa Park with an emphatic 6-1 win in early January.

What TV channel is the game on?

The game will be shown live on Sky Sports Football and Sky Sports Main Event .

If you do not have Sky, you can still access the game through use of a Now TV Pass. The game kicks off at 4.30pm on Sunday and coverage starts at 4pm.

The MEN will also have updates on our live blog.

What is the team news?

Leroy Sane is yet to make his comeback and while Aymeric Laporte's injury sustained against Madrid doesn't appear to be as bad as first feared, he will also likely be out of contention.

For opponents Villa, striker Wesley is out for the season, John McGinn will miss the game as he continues his rehabilitation following an ankle injury. Anwar El Ghazi will be assessed before the match after suffering a facial injury.

What do the bookies say?

Aston Villa have been priced at 20/1 to win the game. City are priced at 1/6 while the draw within 90 minutes is around 7/1.
