Carabao Cup draw LIVE! Manchester United, West Ham and Brentford learn second round fate

Carabao Cup draw LIVE!

The draw for the second round of the Carabao Cup has been concluded, and Manchester United face a trip to Blundell Park later this month to face Grimsby. It is an usual early entry stage for the Red Devils this season following their 15th-placed Premier League finish and Europa League final defeat in the 2024-2025 campaign.

As such, they have joined the first batch of top-flight sides entering at this stage as they do not have European commitments this term. The second round, like the first round, is regionalised. This means those representing the capital - Brentford, Fulham, AFC Wimbledon, Charlton, Millwall and West Ham - have avoided long trips up north for a midweek fixture.

In total, there are two all-Premier League fixtures to look forward to as West Ham and Brentford face tough looking trips to Wolves and Bournemouth respectively. Meanwhile Everton have been handed a favourable home tie - in their new stadium - against League One Mansfield. Follow the draw back below as Man Utd and the handful of London clubs learned their Carabao Cup second-round fates.

Manchester United have a rich history in this competition, of course.

However, the Hammers’ Carabao Cup journey came to an abrupt end in the third round as they were thumped 5-1 by eventual finalists Liverpool at Anfield.

Fulham eye cup final

18:20 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne

Fulham captain Tom Cairney says getting to a cup final would be amazing after the 34-year-old penned a one-year contract extension.

Cairney put an end to speculation around his future this week by committing to his 11th season as a Fulham player.

Cairney had offers from elsewhere but has decided to stay on at Fulham. Looking forward to next season, the Scottish midfielder said he'd want nothing more than to get to a cup final.

Match postponed

It has since been confirmed that the tie has been rearranged for Tuesday 19 August, 2025.

As a result, both teams will be in the hat for today’s draw.

Bromley shock

17:45 , Tashan Deniran-Alleyne
