Carabao Cup draw LIVE!
Arsenal and Chelsea could face each other in the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup after the pair were drawn against each other in Wednesday night’s draw. Naturally, that match-up hinges on if the Gunners defeat Crystal Palace in their quarter-final clash next week, with that game being delayed due to scheduling for both sides. Chelsea booked their place in the last four with a 3-1 win over Cardiff City on Tuesday.
The other semi-final game sees Newcastle host Manchester City in the first leg at St James’ Park, with both sides winning through on Wednesday. The Magpies left it late against Fulham to beat the Cottagers 2-1, thanks to Lewis Miley’s stoppage-time header, and City defeated Brentford comfortably at the Etihad Stadium on a night where Rayan Cherki starred.
The semi-final games will be split across two legs, with the first leg taking place in the week commencing January 12, and the second leg will happen on the week commencing February 2. The final will be played at Wembley on Sunday, March 22.
