Carabao Cup 2nd round draw: Sunderland's fate revealed

Sunderland's reward for their 3-1 victory over Accrington is a trip to Premier League Burnley in the second round of the Carabao Cup.

The Black Cats ran out comfortable winners, thanks to goals from Marc McNulty, Aiden McGeady and Charlie Wyke.

With the first round fixtures concluding this week, the draw for the second round of the competition has been made - and a number of Premier League clubs have entered, alongside relegated duo Cardiff City and Fulham.

However, the seven top-flight teams involved in European competitions, including Arsenal, Liverpool, Manchester United and Wolves, will all wait until the third round before making their bow.

That still leaves a number of big clubs in the hat though, including the likes of Newcastle United, Everton and Leicester City, all of whom learned their fate this evening.

The all Premier League tie between Newcastle and Leicester in the northern section, while in the southern section the stand-out fixture is Nottingham Forest v Derby County.
