Watch Cara Delevingne’s awkward interview with US morning show Good Day Sacramento

After an awkward interview with a US morning show went viral, model-turned-actor Cara Delevingne has taken to Twitter to defend herself.

The Paper Towns star was told by Good Day Sacramento hosts that she seemed “in a mood” in a live chat to discuss her role in the new teen drama. After the video become popular online, she tweeted “Some people just don’t understand sarcasm or the British sense of humour”. It received over 27,000 retweets.

She then shared support from Zach Braff, who responded to her tweet by writing “or how it’s condescending to ask an actress if she’s read the book”. She also shared a tweet from Boy George:

Meanwhile, two of the anchors involved shared rather different tweets about the disastrous interview. Firstly, Kenneth Rudolph tweeted “Yeah, I could have asked a better question. That was my bad. LOL” and his co-worker Marianne McClary posted this thinly veiled critique:

Delevingne was promoting her role in coming-of-age romance Paper Towns and she’ll next be seen in period drama Tulip Fever with Christoph Waltz, big budget fantasy Pan, Martin Amis adaptation London Fields and DC blockbuster Suicide Squad.
