Cara Delevingne: I defied my agents to do stunts in new Amazon show

Cara Delevingne said her agents tried to persuade her not to attempt stunts when filming her new TV show — but she went ahead anyway and “hurt herself” for the part.

The model-turned-actress stars alongside Orlando Bloom in Amazon Prime fantasy series Carnival Row, and the pair attended a preview screening at the Ham Yard Hotel in Soho last night, right.

The show, out tomorrow, is set in a Victorian world where war has forced mythological creatures to seek refuge among humans. Delevingne, 27, plays a winged faerie whose lover is a human detective — Bloom, 42.

Delevingne told the screening audience: “I tried to do all my own stunts, I definitely couldn’t. But when I fall down on that ship [in the opening episode], that was 100 per cent real. When I fall over most of the time, that was just me hurting myself.

“I had agents going, ‘You can’t do all those stunts, you shouldn’t do that’, and I was just like, ‘No, I definitely have to’, because otherwise the part wouldn’t have been the same.”

Bloom, who was accompanied by his fiancée Katy Perry, joked that there were “a couple of close misses” when Delevingne tried to land next to him while suspended from wires.
