Car ‘visibly wobbling’ after driver travelled with wheel nuts missing

Police stopped a vehicle after noticing it was ‘visibly wobbling’ while travelling with all but one nut missing from one of its wheels.

The driver was traveling from Preston to Manchester when officers from the North West Motorway Police unit asked them to pull over.

Upon further investigation, officers discovered a number of nuts were missing from a wheel.

Five out of six wheel nuts were missing from one wheel, with the driver being advised to arrange recovery.

The driver was subsequently issued a traffic offence report (TOR) and a prohibition notice.

North West Motorway Police tweeted about the incident, along with a picture of the vehicle, saying: “This vehicle was stopped by #ME21 as the wheel was visibly wobbling.

“Driver has driven from Preston to Manchester with 5 wheel nuts missing!

“TOR and prohibition notice issued. Driver has arranged recovery in order to get the issue resolved.”
