Car valeter jailed for six years over £600k cocaine haul in his Parkhouse kitchen

A man caught with £600,000 of high purity cocaine has been locked up for six years.

James Munro was snared after a raid at his home on Colwood Avenue in the Parkhouse area last September.

The car valeter told police at the time: "You do the crime, you do the time. 

"I am going away for a few years. It is in the kitchen."

The 41 year-old was sentenced at the High Court in Glasgow.

He had earlier pled guilty to being concerned in the supply of cocaine.

Lady Stacey told him: "It is clear you knew perfectly well the trouble controlled drugs can cause.

"However, you became involved in this due to financial difficulties and while your business was not making money."

The judge said the jail-term would have been nine years, but for he guilty plea.

The court earlier heard how five kilogrammes of cocaine were found in blocks in the kitchen.

The drugs had a purity of 80 per cent.

Munro already had a criminal past including for violence and road traffic offences.
