Car trapped under lorry on Kingston Bridge as elderly man treated at scene

A car has been trapped under a lorry on the Kingston Bridge as an elderly man is being treated in the scene.

It comes after a serious vehicle crash on the M8 in Glasgow around 10.07am on Tuesday September 28, according to Traffic Scotland.

Emergency services rushed to the scene and lane one was closed at Junction 19 eastbound less than ten minutes after they arrived.

Junction 22 eastbound was also closed around 10.35am, blocking access to the bridge,with traffic being diverted via the M74.

An eywitness described a man being treated by paramedics at the scene and 'being hooked up to a machine' by emergency crews.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 10.05am on Tuesday 28 September, officers were called to a report of a two vehicle road crash on the eastbound M8 at junction 19.

"The carriageway has been closed and diversions put in place. Emergency services are at the scene."

It comes after a crash earlier around 6.54am, also at Junction 19, but the area was cleared by 7.19am.
