Car torched outside Glasgow MSP Anas Sarwar's home as police launch investigation

Police have launched an investigation after a car was torched outside the home of Glasgow MSP Anas Sarwar.

Emergency services were called to the scene in the south side of the city on Saturday night.

The blaze was extinguished by firefighters, but suffered substantial damage, Daily Record reports.

It's not known if the politician and his family were home at the time.

A police source told the paper: “The car had been reported as stolen."

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland confirmed they were treating the incident as “wilful” and inquiries are continuing.

She said: “We received a report of a car alight on Saturday 28 November outside an address in Glasgow.

“It is being treated as wilful and inquiries are continuing.”
