Car torched on Scots street in early morning attack as police investigate 'reckless' act

Police are appealing for information following a deliberate car blaze in Arbroath at the weekend.

Emergency services raced to North Grimsby around 6.40am on Saturday after a Citroen car was set alight.

The fire was extinguished by the Scottish Fire and rescue Service and luckily there were no reports of any injuries.

Police officers are now urging anyone with information to get in touch.

Detective Constable Steven Smith said: “Thankfully no-one was injured as a result of this reckless act.

“I am appealing for anyone who was in the area and saw anything which may assist us to get in touch.

“I would also ask anyone who was driving in the area around the time to check dash-cam footage and contact us.”

Anyone with any information is being urged to contact 101 quoting incident 0856 of 4 December, 2021.

Information can also be passed anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
