Car torched in terrifying blaze attack in quiet Scots village

Police are appealing for information after a car was torched in a quiet Scots village.

Emergency services raced to the scene in Dalrymple, East Ayrshire, after a silver Land Rover Discovery car was found on fire outside a property in the early hours of Monday morning.

Fire crews attended and extinguished the flames on Glebe Avenue in the village.

Nobody was injured but the vehicle was extensively damaged.

The fire is being treated as deliberate and enquiries to establish the full circumstances are ongoing.

Detective Sergeant Keith Hyndes, of Ayrshire CID, said: "We are investigating this incident and would urge anyone who may have information or may have seen any suspicious activity around the area to come forward.

"We would be particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have private CCTV or dashcam footage from the area during the early hours of the morning.

"If you can help our enquiries please call 101, quoting incident 0294 of 14 December, or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."

It's the latest in a string of crazy arson attacks in the Ayrshire village.

Last month a couple awoke in early hours of the morning to find their two cars engulfed in flames.
