Car torched and holes drilled in fuel tank of another in linked incidents in Llanelli

One car was set alight and another had holes drilled into its fuel tank in two linked incidents that happened in one night in Llanelli.

Police are investigating after a Volkswagen Golf was torched in a suspected arson attack in the Pemberton area of the town on Sunday, September 29.

On the same evening, a Nisan Micra, which was parked nearby, had holes drilled into its fuel tank.

Police have confirmed that they believe both incidents are linked.

A spokeswoman for Dyfed-Powys Police said: “We are investigating a car fire at Llandafen Road, Pemberton, Llanelli, which occurred at approximately 8.30pm on Sunday, September 29.

“A Volkswagen Golf was parked in the lane behind the street, when the owner noticed it was alight. The fire is being treated as arson.

“Holes were drilled in to the fuel tank of a nearby parked Nissan Micra on the same evening, and the two incidents are being treated as linked.”

Anyone who has any information about either incident is asked to contact PC 438 David Thomas of Dyfed-Powys Police by calling 101, quoting reference number DPP/0075/29/09/2019/01/C.
