Car thieves follow man home before attacking him on his driveway and stealing BMW

A man was attacked on his own driveway by masked thugs who followed him home and stole his car.

Police were called to Duckworth Road in Prestwich at around 11pm on Thursday night to reports of a carjacking.

The victim, who is in his 30s, is said to have been driving home in his grey BMW 1 Series when he began to feel like he was being followed by another vehicle.

When he pulled up on his driveway, he was confronted by two men with their faces covered.

They threatened the victim, before punching him repeatedly in the face.

Both men then escaped the scene. One in the victim's BMW, the other in a white Vauxhall Corsa.

Neither vehicle has yet been recovered.

A spokesman for GMP said the men were described as wearing black masks and dark clothing.

They added: "A man in his mid 30s was driving when he became under the impression he was being followed by another vehicle.

"When he reached his driveway, he was threatened by two men and punched in the face.

"The males have then taken his car, a grey BMW 1 Series. One of them has driven off in victim's car, the other in a white Vauxhall Corsa.

"An investigation has been launched and enquiries are ongoing."

Anyone with information is asked to contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
