Car that crashed into traffic light in York Road, Leeds, had four kids inside

Four children were in the car that crashed into a traffic light in Leeds but they received “minor injuries and no injuries.”

West Yorkshire Police were called by Yorkshire Ambulance Service today (Wednesday) 12.49pm to reports of a crash in A64 York Road near Seacroft.

The black car had crashed into a barrier in the central reservation knocking down one of the traffic lights.

The driver of the car, a woman, was taken to hospital for treatment and four kids who were in the car received minor or no injuries between them.

A spokesperson for the force added the drive didn’t have life-threatening injuries.

They said: “At 12:49pm today, police were contacted by the ambulance service who were attending a road traffic collision in York Road, Seacroft, near to the Barwick Road roundabout.

“A car had been involved in a collision with a barrier in the central reservation.

“The woman driver of the vehicle was taken to hospital for treatment and a scene and road closure was put in place.

“Her injuries were subsequently found to be not life threatening or life changing. Four children who were in the car received minor injuries or no injuries between them.”
