Car submerged on Swansea road after heavy downpours

More heavy rainfall has been causing problems on the roads across south-west Wales.

A car was spotted submerged in water on Peniel Green Road in Birchgrove , Swansea on Tuesday afternoon.

The red vehicle was almost up to its bonnet in water as it got into trouble near The Bowens Arms.

A passerby, who did not want to be named, saw the car stuck in the water and said that the flooding had caused "disruption" in the area.

"The main issue is the disruption it's caused," said the onlooker.

"It's a main bus route and is used by people getting back and fore to pick children up from school and to go to work."

A number of cars could be seen having to mount the pavement just to get past the large amount of water on the busy route.

A number of roads had problems with flooding throughout Birchgrove with some spots being left impassable with the amount of water that had collected.
