Car spotted being driven along busy Cardiff road with ladder sticking out of the window

A motorist was seen driving along a busy dual carriageway in Cardiff with a ladder sticking out of a passenger window.

The car was spotted at 9.30am on the A48 dual carriageway out of Cardiff towards Llanedeyrn .

The blue Citroen C2 was travelling in the left lane of the road, and the ladder overhangs way into the hard shoulder.

It's not the first bizarre driving decision caught on camera recently.

In August, a driver was fined and given three points from driving with a second car on top of his, whilst another crashed after eating hummus and french stick at the wheel in July.

The Department for Transport's guidance on overloading a vehicle says: "Vehicles that are overloaded can pose a danger to the driver, passengers or other road users.

"If a vehicles’ gross or axle weight limits are exceeded when weighed by either Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA), the police or trading standards officers, the company and/or driver risk prosecution."
