Car smashes into lamppost leaving it hanging over road in horror crash

Police have launched a probe after a car smashed into a lamppost in Fife.

Officers raced to the scene after the vehicle careered into the pole at the Fife Leisure Park roundabout on Sanderling Way last night.

Pictures from the scene show extensive damage to the lamppost, which was completely bent and hanging over the road.

The incident, involving one car, happened at around 6.55pm on Saturday night.

Police attended and traced the driver.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Around 6.55pm on Saturday, 21 March, officers were called to a report of a road crash involving one car on Sanderling Way, Dunfermline.

"Officers attended and traced the driver."
