Car smashes into house after crash as police release image

Police are appealing for information after a car smashed into a house and ruptured a gas pipe in Dukinfield before driving off.

Two vehicles were involved in the crash but one failed to stop.

Police have released an image of the car and are appealing for anyone with information to come forward.

A spokesperson for GMP said: "Officers were called just after 4.20pm yesterday (Friday 19 November 2021) to a report of two vehicle road traffic collision which resulted in a vehicle colliding with a house at the junction of Chapel Street and Church Street in Dukinfield.

"A gas pipe was ruptured as a result.

"One of the vehicles failed to stop and made off towards King Street and Chapel Street.

"Officers have released an image of the vehicle that left the scene and are asking anyone who may have seen the vehicle or has any information to get in touch."
