Car set on fire in north Glasgow as police launch investigation

An investigation is underway after a dramatic car fire incident in the north of the city.

Police and fire crews raced to the scene of the blaze on Erradale Street in the Lambhill area around 2:15pm this afternoon.

Two appliances were mobilised, and on arrival firefighters extinguished a fire affecting two cars which had spread to a third vehicle.

Officers say enquiries into the circumstances are at an early stage.

There are no reported casualties.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "Around 2.15pm on Tuesday, 26 January, officers were called to the Erradale Street area of Glasgow following a report of a car on fire. Enquiries into the circumstances are at an early stage."

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokeswoman said: "We were alerted at 2.11pm on Tuesday, January 26 to reports of a car on fire at Erradale Street, Glasgow.

"Operations Control mobilised two appliances to the scene. Firefighters extinguished the fire which affected two cars and had spread to a third vehicle. Crews left after ensuring the area was made safe. There were no reported casualties.”
