Car seller shares reality of buying used vehicles as gross stains are hidden

A TikTok star has shared the grim reality of buying used cars in a stomach-churning clip that shows him covering up the stains on a seat - leaving them looking almost new.

Matt Ward is a car seller and avid social media user, and used TikTok to share a video of the technique with his 36,000 followers.

At the start of the clip, titled 'just another day in the office', a hand can be seen holding a can of what appears to be fabric paint over a badly stained and soiled car seat.

Then, after a quick spray, the car seat looks almost good as new - but it hasn't been cleaned and the disgusting stains have just been painted over.

What do you think about buying second-hand cars? Let us know in the comments below....

Over the video, Matt added the caption "for all of you out there buying used cars", and since it was uploaded a month ago it has had over 17 million views, alongside almost 9,000 comments.

One user, Joely Thorning, said: "That's why I love having a leather interior!"

Rob Bureau added: "Yup, done and seen it many times at all the dealers I work at."

And a third user wrote: "Why don't you just wash it It takes like five minutes per seat and you get to go home being a decent human being."

But for a fourth user, the downsides of buying used were still worth putting up with, as he added: "It is still better to buy used. The first few years of a new vehicle is all depreciation."
