Car salesman stole more than £2,000 from Cardiff dealership

A car salesman stole thousands of pounds from the Cardiff dealership where he worked.

Christopher Michael of Cwrt Bevan, Merthyr Tydfil , stole a total £2,200 from Fordthorne Motor Park on Penarth Road, Cardiff on March 21, 2017 and June 6, 2017.

Between February 1, 2017 and July 1, 2017, the 38-year-old salesman also committed fraud and "dishonestly abused his position" for financial gain.

Michael, who had been released on conditional bail, appeared in Cardiff Crown Court on Wednesday, December 11 charged with two counts of theft and one count of fraud.

Judge Twomlow, sentencing, ordered Michael to a 12-month community order and to complete 150 hours of unpaid work.

He was also ordered to pay an £85 victim surcharge and £400 in court costs.
