A car was engulfed in flames after being set on fire on one of Merseyside's most expensive streets.
Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service were called to Victoria Road in Formby on Saturday, to reports that a blue Vauxhall had been set alight.
Fire crews extinguished the blaze, which is reported to have happened between 6.15pm and 8.15pm, and caused significant damage to the car.
A spokesperson from Merseyside Police said no one was injured during the incident but a number of people who were in the area at the time were put in danger.
Enquiries are ongoing to identify those responsible for stating the fire.
Anyone who witnessed anything suspicious in the area or captured anything on camera is being asked to come forward and contact police.

Sergeant Chris Hughes said: “Thankfully nobody was hurt in this incident, but there are a number of people parked nearby and walking in the area who were put in danger by this reckless behaviour.
“If you saw or heard anything or anyone suspicious in the Formby Pinewoods area between 6.15pm and 8.15pm on Saturday, or captured anything on mobile phone video or dashcam, then please come forward and we will take action.
“Whether you contact us directly or anonymously through the independent charity Crimestoppers, rest assured, your information will be acted upon.”
