A car which was rammed minutes before tragic gangland gun victim John McGregor was shot in the street has been seized by police.
The green Mercedes was taken by detectives leading the murder investigation after it was located close to a property close where the dad-of-five was fatally wounded.
The vehicle is believed to belong to a 30-year-old woman who was allegedly threatened with a knife during the incident which happened last Thursday night, August 26.
Her car was deliberately hit by a grey Transit van which was allegedly driven by a 42-year-old member of the notorious Daniel crime clan.
The intended target is believed to have been a 28-year-old who is also an associate of the organised crime group which has been split by infighting.
Insiders say the man - who is facing a High Court trial and can’t be named for legal reason - escaped harm.
However, a male jumped from the van and held a knife to the throat of the female car owner before he also fled.

Less than an hour later, McGregor was shot at close range in Westray Street in Glasgow 's Milton on August 26 and later died in hospital.
Now officers from Police Scotland’s Major Investigation Team have taken the woman’s Merc while they hunt for those involved - including a 14-year-old boy.
An insider said: “The car was driven away after it was rammed.

“But it didn’t take long for the police to find out who it belonged to and track it down.
“They’ve now got it and it’s unlikely the owner will be getting it back any time soon.
“Police are still trying to find people who were involved.
“They’re also having some problems with people co-operating. Folk are scared.”
The gunman is believed to be in his 60s and an former associate of kingpin Jamie Daniel who died from cancer in 2016.
He was filmed running back to a getaway vehicle seconds after shooting McGregor.
A white Vauxhall Corsa was found burnt out in Cumbernauld later that night.
Police have also recovered the Transit van.
On Wednesday, McGregor’s family thanked members of the public who battled to save his life as police renewed their appeal for witnesses to come forward.
A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed the car was "lifted on Sunday, August 29, as part of the ongoing investigation."
