Car ploughs through front of takeaway in Mulhuddart as young man taken to hospital

A young man was taken to hospital after the car he was driving ploughed through the front of a takeaway in west Dublin.

The 19-year-old driver was the sole occupant of the car when it crashed into the takeaway in Mulhuddart village at around 12:30pm this afternoon.

He was taken to nearby Connolly Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

No one else was injured in the crash.

A garda spokeswoman told Dublin Live investigations into the incident are ongoing.

She said: "Gardaí attended the scene of a single vehicle collision that occurred at approximately 12.30p.m. this afternoon Saturday 3 rd April, 2021 in Mulhuddart Village.

"One man, 19 years, who was the driver of the vehicle and sole occupant of the car collided with the front of a shop. No other persons were injured.

"He was removed to James Connelly Memorial Hospital with minor injuries. Investigations ongoing."
