Car ploughs through Edinburgh shop window 'injuring mother and child'

A car has ploughed through a shop window in Edinburgh.

The horror incident unfolded on Morningside Road in the capital today.

It is understood the crash may have resulted in multiple fatalities.

A local to the area told the Daily Record: "A car has gone into a shop."

One witness said: "I was just there. Poor lad was stuck under the car. I hope he is ok. He was breathing when I left.

"I got out of the car to help. It was quite serious.

"The mother of the child was also injured."

Police Scotland said:"Around 2.30pm on Tuesday, 30 June, 2020, police received a report of a road traffic crash involving a car and two pedestrians in Morningside Road, Edinburgh.

“Emergency services remain at the scene.”
