Car ploughs into the front of Co-op store in Stockport

A car has crashed into the front of a convenience store in Stockport.

The vehicle smashed into the front entrance to the Co-op Store on Hall Street shortly after 7am this morning.

Staff at the shop say no one was hurt but the store is closed.

Photographs taken at the scene show show the glass front destroyed by the impact of the black Ford Focus.

A member of staff at the Co-op said: "We are closed today. No one was hurt."

Police confirmed they were called to a two vehicle crash on Hall Street at 7.03am.

 

A GMP spokesman added: "We were called at 7.03am on Monday.

"Initial reports were of a two-car crash. One of them had gone into the front of the shop."
