Car ploughs into poles metres away from kids playing in north Dublin area

Residents watched in horror as a car ploughed into two poles just mere metres away from kids playing in a north Dublin residential area.

The shocking incident happened at Sandyhill Terrace in Balbutcher Lane, Ballymun last night.

Gardai rushed to the scene after the car rammed into two poles bringing them down.

An eye-witness said the driver appeared to be unsteady on their feet.

They told Dublin Live: "It's a miracle nobody was killed.

"No one would have stood a chance [if the driver hit them], and it was a lovely evening so plenty of kids still out and about."

Dublin Live has contacted the gardai for a comment.
