Car ploughs into Morley house and bursts into flames before driver and passenger flee the scene

Police are on the hunt for three people who fled the scene of an accident after a car ploughed into a house in Leeds and then caught fire.

The driver of a black Volkswagen Polo lost control and crashed into a house in Eyrie Approach, Morley, at 5.05am on June 27.

The three occupants believed to have been travelling in the car then fled the scene on foot heading towards Magpie Lane.

Shortly after this, the car caught fire.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police (West Yorkshire Police)

The people who were inside the home were thankfully not harmed during the accident.

Police are now appealing for information and have released CCTV footage to help trace the trio who may be able to assist with enquiries.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said: "Police are appealing for information following a road traffic collision involving a property in Morley.

"The incident happened in Eyrie Approach, where it is reported that a black Volkswagen Polo lost control and collided into a property on the street at around 5.05am yesterday morning."

Any witnesses to the accident, who saw the Volkswagen prior to the collision or shortly after and anyone with dash-cam footage is asked to call police on 101, quoting incident number 440 of June 27.
