Car ploughs into girl, 11, on Leeds road as Pendas Way is shut by police

A road in east Leeds has been closed after an 11-year-old girl was hit by a car.

West Yorkshire Police were called to Pendas Way in Crossgates at 3.47pm today (Wednesday) following reports of the road traffic collision.

The young girl suffered a leg injury and is being treated by the ambulance service.

Police officers are currently at the scene of the incident and bus services are being diverted.

A spokesman for the police said: “We are currently at the scene of a road traffic collision on Pendas Way.

“Called at 15.47 to reports a car had collided with an 11-year-old girl. The 11-year-old has suffered a leg injury and is being treated by the ambulance service.

“Road is currently closed.”

First West Yorkshire tweeted earlier that Service 40 is currently diverting via Barwick Road.

They said: “*** SERVICE UPDATE ***

“Service 40 is currently diverting via Barwick Road, Church Lane, Austhorpe Road in both directions due to a police incident.

“We are sorry for any inconvenience caused.”
