Car overturns on Clydeside Expressway at Finnieston as police close down road

Emergency services are at the scene of an overturned car on the Clydeside Expressway.

Police have shut down an eastbound section of the A814 following the crash which has taken place between Glasgow Harbour and Finnieston Street.

The road is closed to all eastbound traffic between the Hayburn Street interchange and the on-ramp at Finnieston Street after the car collided with a lamppost. There are no reports of any injuries at this time.

Drivers in the area are warned to expect delays.

Glasgow City Council's Traffic Control and Management team (TRAFFCOM) advised at 12.35pm: "Police have now closed the A814 eastbound to all traffic between Hayburn Street interchange and Finnieston Street onramp.

"Road users should expect delays on all approaching routes.

"The emergency services are currently dealing with an accident on the A814/Clydeside Expressway eastbound carriageway between the Glasgow Harbour and Finnieston Street.

"An overturned car is on its roof and the road is currently closed to all eastbound traffic."

A Police Scotland spokesperson advised: "Around 12.05pm on Sunday, October 17, officers were called to the Clydeside Expressway in Glasgow, following a report of a crash involving a car and a lamppost.

"Diversions are in place while recovery is arranged."

UPDATE: All lanes are now open.
