Car overturns following early morning crash in Gorton

A driver avoided serious injury when a car overturned in a crash in Gorton.

Emergency services were scrambled to Reddish Lane following reports of a collision at 6.40am this morning (Monday).

A patient was checked over but no one was taken to hospital, a spokeswoman for the North West Ambulance Service said.

Photos taken in the aftermath of the smash showed the badly damaged grey car overturned in the road.

Police and ambulance vehicles were pictured at the scene.

A passerby told the Manchester Evening News that he heard the car sliding down the road.

"The driver was OK and was in bad shock. Another driver took care of the driver until the emergency services turned up", he said.

A spokeswoman for the North West Ambulance Service said: "We were called to a road traffic collision in which the car rolled over.

"We sent an ambulance to the scene at 6.41am, but we haven't taken a patient to hospital."

GMP has been contacted for comment.
