A driver has avoided injury after a car overturned on West Road.
The car had been involved in a collision with another car at the junction of Denton Road in Newcastle on Monday morning.
Emergency services attended and the road was blocked until just after 9am while the vehicle was recovered.
Those involved were checked over by paramedics at the scene but did not require hospital treatment.
A spokesman for Northumbria Police said: "At 8am this morning police received a report of a two vehicle collision outside The Denton pub.
"One of the vehicles overturned and came to rest on its roof, obstructing part of the road and causing congestion.
"Emergency services attended the scene and those involved were being checked over by paramedics at the scene."
A spokesman for the North East Ambulance Service added that they sent a rapid response vehicle to the scene.
