Car overturned in horror crash during poor weather conditions in Wicklow Mountains

A car overturned in a horror crash in Co Wicklow on Tuesday as drivers battled poor weather conditions.

The car flipped over in Glendasan in the Wicklow Mountains near Glendalough.

A photo from the scene shows the vehicle on its roof in a rocky area after a local fire crew and ambulance rushed to the scene.

No other vehicle was involved in the accident which happened around lunchtime.

There are no reports of injuries.

Wicklow Fire Service tweeted: "Rathdrum Fire Crew assisted @AmbulanceNAS in Glendasan yesterday lunchtime at the scene of a single car #RTC."

They cautioned: "Current road conditions can be very difficult and Wicklow's scenic roads require vigilance when driving. Wishing the casualty a full recovery."

A garda spokesperson told the Irish Daily Mirror: "Gardaí attended the scene of a single vehicle road traffic collision in Laragh, Co. Wicklow which occurred on the 7 July at approximately 1:00pm. No injuries reported.

"Investigations ongoing."

Last week a similar accident took place on a wet road just outside the town of Rathdrum where a car flipped over and ended up on a verge.

Wicklow Fire Service said there were two people inside the car at the time.

They tweeted: "Fire crew responded to an #RTC on the outskirts of the town - our best wishes on a full recovery to the two occupants."
