Car on railway line at Stirling station leads to Glasgow train disruption

A car on the railway line at Stirling station has led to disruption for Glasgow train services.

Scotrail confirmed the incident shortly before 12.45pm this afternoon, sharing a picture of the scene on Twitter.

Network Rail are still on site attempting to remove the car from the line.

As such, services travelling to and from Glasgow Queen Street station have been affected.

Scotrail confirmed: "A car has encroached onto the railway at Stirling. We're working closely with the emergency services.

"@NetworkRailScot's team are on their way - they'll work to remove the car, inspect the track and hopefully get Platforms 2 & 3 open again as quickly as they can."

At the time of writing, trains running from Queen Street to Dunblane and Alloa are impacted, with disruption expected to last until 4.15pm.
