A car has burst into flames on a busy motorway near the Forth Bridges .
Emergency services were called to the scene at junction 1B northbound on the M90 at Ferrytoll at 9.50am this morning.
Dramatic pictures posted by Traffic Scotland on Twitter showed the silver vehicle on fire on the hard shoulder.
Police say the driver is out the car with the fire service currently at the scene.
Road users have been advised to proceed with caution as smoke is billowing out across the dual carriageway. Delays are expected.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue spokesperson confirmed they are currently at the scene.
