Car of missing Scot Steven Squire found at Travelodge 23 miles from his home

Friends of a missing Glenrothes man claim his car has been found at a hotel 23 miles away.

Police are continuing their efforts to trace Steven Squire who was spotted outside his home at around 6pm on Sunday night.

The 33-year-old is believed to have travelled to the Broxden area of Perth where his car was recovered at a Travelodge on Wednesday, friends claim.

His worried pals are desperately appealing for help to find Steven as concern for his safety grows.

Kyle Hegg shared new images of Steven on social media and urged everyone in the Perth area to keep an eye out for him.

They wrote: “This guys name is Steven Squire. We grew up together and he is now officially on the missing persons list. His car was found at Broxden Travelodge in Perth.

“Could everyone of my friends in that area give this a share.

“If you have been in his company and want to keep anonymous, or if someone has made you aware or you have seen him please contact the police and me immediately.

“If I have to drop everything and come get him personally I will, cause that’s what brothers do.

“Please be safe man, if you see this contact your family or one of us.”

Steven is described as being between 5ft 10 to 6ft tall and is of a medium build with a tanned complexion.

He has green eyes, facial stubble and short dark hair which is shaved at the sides.

Steven also has tattoos on his neck, arms and hands and is believed to have been wearing a black baseball cap.

Police confirmed that Steven was last seen at around 6.30pm on Wednesday in the Broxden area of Perth.

They believe he left the area on foot.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 quoting incident number 2861 of September 1st or to speak to any police officer.
