A busy town centre street has been closed in a Co Tipperary town after reports that a car mounted a footpath and struck a pedestrian.
The incident occurred at around 3pm on Gladstone Steet in Clonmel town.
According to local reports, a male pedestrian was injured after he was hit by a car that mounted a footpath.
The man was taken to South Tipperary General Hospital where his condition is currently unknown, but is believed to be serious.
The driver of the car was not injured in the incident.
Members of the emergency services remain at the scene.

The road remains closed and diversions are in place.
