A car has been left submerged after a road flooded due to the torrential rain.
Police have issued a tongue-in-cheek warning as Crossley Road in Stockport has been left underwater following the day's deluge, reminding drivers that their cars are not British swimming star, Adam Peaty.
The road which runs underneath a railway bridge has been closed by officers, but one car fell victim to water and was forced to be abandoned, according to police at the scene.

The driver and his family are understood to have escaped the car without injury.
Firefighters are also at the scene dealing with the incident.
The Greater Manchester Police Heatons and Reddish neighbourhood team put out a notice on its Facebook page at around 3pm, saying: "It's rained quite a bit in the last couple of hours and as a result Crossley Road has flooded under the railway bridge once again.
"The road is currently closed and will be for the foreseeable.
"DO NOT IGNORE any road signage stating the road is closed. Your car will not make it through, it is not Adam Peaty!"
